PSE Photo Editing

Now that I've figured out how to make collages in PSE, I had a super easy time putting together 5x7 sheets of the pictures I want printed for the baseball sleeves in my Week in the Life 2010 scrapbook. Of course, even though it was pretty easy to do, it still took me several hours, as in about 6!, to get them all edited and ready to print.

These are my baseball card pictures for Friday. With a couple of exceptions,  I ended up with 12 pictures for each day. It was really difficult choosing the photos on some days, other days, no choice at all, (because I didn't take very many).

And I still need to finish up the other collages yet. I can't decide if I want to add a strip with the day of the week on the collage itself, or add that in later. I'll think on it. Next step is to work on the opening pages. I plan to do my journaling first and then import the photo so I can be sure to print the sizes I need for each day's opening page. I kept a running list of daily activities (with the time included) that I'm going to print out and put in somewhere...I'm pretty sure I'll be adding a few more pages. One of my extra pages is a large picture of a rocket launch during one of the evening ball games. Very cool. And only in Florida :)

My Crazy Life

I didn't even think about my blog yesterday! I didn't think about it until I was in the middle of my power walk this morning. It just hit me out of the blue that I didn't post yesterday! gah! It's probably because I spent most of the evening working on editing my pictures from the Week in the Life project.  I chose 132 pictures for the week, but I think I need to pare it down a bit more. Some days I didn't have enough to choose from and other days I had way too many. I also finally figured out how to make a collage in PSE! I'm actually kind of proud of myself for figuring it out. I'd read tutorials and just didn't get it. I'm so glad I stuck with it.

Here is Monday's collage. I didn't flatten the images yet, because I may still make a few changes. I like to keep my options open :)

Once I get all the pictures cropped and edited, I'll upload them to Shutterfly. They are my favorite online processor. They have very good print quality and pretty quick shipping. Hopefully, I'll be finished with the editing sometime today. I really want to get this project finished so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor!

I also have Project 365 underway, so I have lots of pictures to go through :)

Project 365: Week 16

WEEK #16
Sunday, April 11, 2010  It's time to get started on J's birthday treats and cake. I'm going to go ala Bakerella on this one. For the last couple of years J has asked for a baseball cake for his birthday. This year is no exception. :)

Monday, April 12, 2010  The baseball treats are done and ready to head to the field. As part of J's birthday celebration he wanted to share some of his cake with his teammates.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010  I made one very large baseball on Monday to put on J's cake for today. I made homemade buttercream frosting and tinted it green. I used some melt-aways to write the message on and piped a zillion pieces of grass! Simple, but cute.

Wednesday, April 15, 2010 After all that sugar, I needed something healthy for lunch. So I mixed up a tuna salad and ate it on one of those lovely wheat sandwich thins. yummy!
Thursday, April 16, 2010  K asked me to make her skinny jeans even skinnier. "Sew" I did.

Friday, April 17, 2010  One of the things J said he'd like to do for his birthday was go miniature golfing. We haven't been able to do this here in FL because it's quite cost prohibitive to go any old time. But we did go for J's birthday. He's been wanting to play at Pirate's Cove since he first spotted it on our first trip to FL back in 2005! And since it was his birthday, he got to play for free! (plus a goodie bag on the way out)

Saturday, April 18, 2010  I put together my book for next weeks "Week in the Life" project. I have the layout design in my head and the papers and embellishments all finished. Once the project week is finished and I get my prints back from the developer all I'll need to do is slip them into place and enjoy!

Week in the Life of Us - 2010 - Sunday

Good morning for some fresh baked Gingerbread Dark Chocolate Chip muffins

so yummy. they ate them right up!
I was the last one up so the bed didn't get made right away
And then I cleared off the table
I pulled out my pretty new pumps today
Who is that handsome man?
J brought half the sand pile back from the fields in his shoes!
K did some yardwork - she rocks
sweet new polish!
working on the school schedule for the week
the boys watching some YouTube
texting and listening to music
trying to assemble my wrap
Chad sent J up on the roof to clear away the tree mess from the air conditioner unit - he loves that job
the completed wrap! go me!
storm rolled in. lots of lightening - major rain
chillin for the night. Got me a book, Chad's playing cards and we're watching a new TV series on the Wii through Netflix.

I didn't expect to have as many pictures for Sunday and I actually ended up with a great amount to choose from. Now that all the pictures are taken for the week, it's time to start editing and sketching the layouts for the book. I'll also need to send them off to be printed. But I have a bunch of other pictures that need printed at the same time, so I don't think this project will be completed for another week or so. What a great experience! I'm already excited to do it again next year! :)

Week in the Life of Us - 2010 - Friday

Friday morning coffee date
because it's Chad's day "off"
K worked on school in her jammies today
Yet another laundry day - this time Chad's shirts
Working in the concession stand
sorting out the pencil box
and then I ironed all those shirts
fed Ruby
took a quick break to glance through the latest Cloth, Paper, Scissors
keeping the book at the baseball game
J was the opening pitcher. He did a great job!

Lots going on today. Fridays are usually a bit different because Chad is home all day. I never know what I'm going to get accomplished when he has a day off. Sometimes we work all day and sometimes we play. Today was a bit of both - a happy medium.
